Sevdiah
has been dancing in the Tampa Bay area for over 13 years, during this
time she has continued her studies here and abroad in the discipline
of Raqs Sharki. This desire to always excel in her craft has
earned her respect and placed her in high demand for performances and instruction. Born
and raised in NYC by parents and family of Albanian & Turkish descent, she strives
to keep this art alive.
Sevdiah has opened up in Clearwater for Ramy Ayach, performed at Raymond James Stadium, will be touring with Goddess of the Veil, is responsible for Raks at the Royalty 2006 Improv DVD and is the first Middle Eastern dance teacher at the Patel Conservatory for the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center.
Sevdiah has
studied with some of the most honorable instructors that are known
throughout the world. They include Haracio & Beata Cifuentes,
Jillina, Sahra Saeeda, Eleni Lenti, Bozenka,Aziza, Amir Thaleb, Ahmet Luleci (Folk, mainly Turkish), Hadia, Tamalyn Dallal,
Yousry & Nourhan Sharif and many others. She has studied
in Egypt with Raqia Hassan, Mahmoud Reda, Randa Kamel, Sorroya and Dina.
Sevdiah teaches and performs at several
locations in the Tampa Bay area weekly. She is available for private
parties, workshops, weddings and should be booked in advance. NO BACHELOR
PARTIES unless it is coed and/or family oriented. Classes are
available on a regular basis throughout the year, as well as workshops
on technique and choreography. |
